Frequently Asked Questions

What if I’m not photogenic?

Many of my clients have brought up this concern. Guess what? I feel that way, too! But every time I get my own family photos, I forget why I was so worried about how I looked and am simply grateful that I have professional family photos. I hope that you'll feel the same way after your images are delivered, because my clients are absolutely beautiful, inside and out.

What if my house doesn’t have good lighting, is too small, or isn’t so pretty?

Don’t worry! Family photos are about the memories and people, not the location. To be honest, not every house has the most beautiful lighting, but I still make it work!

What should we wear?

In general, I think whatever makes you feel comfortable is the best choice, because you know you. That being said, my high school club T-shirts and yoga pants are my go-to comfy outfit, so you might consider dressing up a little bit more than usual to make your pictures really pop. Once you book your session, I will send you a style guide with clothing ideas.

When will I get my photos?

I will deliver the edited photos within two weeks of the session. You will receive a link to a preliminary online gallery, where you can pick which photos you’d like to purchase. Once that’s done, I will deliver a final online gallery to you. It’s that simple!

How does payment work?

I accept payment via PayPal and credit card. In order to secure a date, you must pay a session fee, which goes toward the overall cost of the package. This session fee includes the photographer’s time spent planning the session and preparing an online gallery for the client. It also includes a photo consultation prior to the session. The remaining balance is paid following the session.

When is a good time to take pictures?

For at-home family and newborn lifestyle sessions, I recommend taking pictures in the morning. The lighting is great, and kids and babies are usually the happiest at that time. For family outdoor sessions, I often take pictures an hour or so before sunset, but I take pictures in the morning as well.
